Step-by-Step: How to Add a Stamp to Your PDF
Step 1: Upload Your PDF File
- Go to Free PDF Stamper
- Click “Upload Your PDF” or drag and drop your PDF file onto the upload area
- Once uploaded, you’ll see a preview of your PDF on the right side
- Use the Next/Prev buttons to navigate through pages and verify the file
Step 2: Upload Your Stamp Image
- In the Stamp Upload section, click to browse for your stamp image or drag and drop it
- Your stamp will appear in the preview area of the PDF

Step 3: Resize and Position the Stamp
You have full control over three properties:
Size: Click and drag the resize handle (bottom-right corner of the stamp) to make it larger or smaller. You can shrink it to fit a corner or enlarge it to cover more of the page.
Position: Click and drag the stamp to place it anywhere on the page:
- Bottom corner (common for approval stamps)
- Top center (common for letterhead stamps)
- Anywhere else you need it
Opacity/Transparency: Use the slider to adjust:
- 100% = fully opaque (solid stamp, hard to read text underneath)
- 10% = nearly transparent (good for watermarks)
- Stamp opacity is typically set higher (70–100%) so it’s clearly visible
Extra controls:
- Reset Size — reverts to the original image dimensions
- Center Stamp — automatically centers the stamp on the current page
Step 4: Choose Which Pages to Stamp
Three options:

For Custom, the tool lists all pages in your PDF — just select the ones where you want the stamp applied.
Step 5: Generate and Download
- Click “Generate Stamped PDF”
- Your browser will process the file and download the new stamped PDF
- Open the downloaded file — your stamp will appear on all selected pages
How to Add a Watermark (Same Process, Different Opacity)
The process for adding a watermark is identical to adding a stamp. The only difference is in how you use opacity:

At 10% opacity, your logo appears faintly across the page — visible enough to establish ownership but transparent enough that the document content remains fully readable.
