Privacy Policy — FuelLog

Effective Date:
March 3, 2026 Application Name: FuelLog Platform: Android (Google Play Store)

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FuelLog (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) handles information in connection with your use of the application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring complete transparency about how the App works.

Please read this policy carefully. By using FuelLog, you agree to the practices described in this document.

2. Data Controller

FuelLog is developed and published as an independent application. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you may contact the developer at the support channel listed on the Google Play Store listing.

3. What Data the App Stores

FuelLog allows you to record and track your vehicle’s fuel fill-ups. To provide this functionality, the App stores the following data exclusively on your own device:

3.1 Fuel Log Records (SQLite Database)

Each fill-up record you create may contain:

  • Date and time of the fill-up
  • Current and previous odometer readings (in kilometres)
  • Volume of fuel added (in litres)
  • Price per litre
  • Optional fuel station name or label
  • Whether the fill-up was a full or partial tank

3.2 Application Preferences (SharedPreferences)

The App stores the following user preferences locally on your device:

  • Your selected currency symbol
  • The most recently entered fuel price per litre (used as a convenience pre-fill)

4. How Data is Stored

All data recorded in FuelLog is stored 100% locally on your device.

  • Fuel log records are stored in a SQLite database file located in the App’s private storage directory on your device. This storage is sandboxed by the Android operating system and is not accessible to other applications.
  • User preferences are stored using Android SharedPreferences, also within the App’s private, sandboxed storage.

No data is ever written to, or read from, any external server, cloud service, or third-party storage system.

5. Data Collection & Transmission

FuelLog does not collect, transmit, or share any user data with any external party, under any circumstances.

Specifically:

  • ❌ No telemetry or analytics — We do not use any analytics SDK (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar).
  • ❌ No crash reporting — We do not automatically report crash data to external servers.
  • ❌ No advertising — The App contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs.
  • ❌ No tracking — We do not track your location, usage patterns, device identifiers, or any behavioural data.
  • ❌ No account or registration required — The App does not require or offer user accounts of any kind.
  • ❌ No internet permission — FuelLog does not request the INTERNET permission in its Android manifest. It is architecturally incapable of sending data over a network.

6. Permissions

FuelLog requests no special Android permissions. The App operates entirely within its own sandboxed storage and does not access your contacts, camera, location, microphone, or any other sensitive device resource.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over its retention:

  • Delete individual records — Use the swipe-to-delete gesture in the History screen to remove individual fill-up entries at any time.
  • Delete all data — Uninstalling the FuelLog application from your device will permanently and irreversibly delete all data stored by the App.

We do not retain any copies of your data because we never receive it.

8. Children’s Privacy

FuelLog does not knowingly collect or store personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not collect any personal information from any user, regardless of age. As no data is collected or transmitted, the App poses no privacy risk to minors.

9. Data Security

Because all data remains on your device, its security is governed by your device’s own security mechanisms (screen lock, device encryption, etc.). We strongly encourage you to:

  • Use a screen lock on your device.
  • Keep your Android OS updated with the latest security patches.

We have no ability to access, recover, or breach your data as it never leaves your device.

10. Third-Party Services

FuelLog does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that collect user data. The only third-party packages used are open-source Flutter/Dart libraries for local UI and storage functionality (sqfliteshared_preferencesprovidercurrency_pickerintl). None of these libraries transmit data externally.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date at the top of this document and publishing the updated policy on the App’s Google Play Store listing. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the App’s data practices, please contact the developer through the support channel listed on the official FuelLog Google Play Store listing page.

FuelLog stores your data on your device. That’s it. That’s the whole policy.
